if loneliness was art

all of the punks in Camden
could never shout about it

all of the hipsters in Shoreditch
could never style it

all of the bankers in Moorgate
could never buy it
for you

unthought of, somehow

down by the ocean
i learned to give in

Just remember this

Hang on lads, I've got a great idea!

I just wanted you to come out in style, baby

Make art, not friends

I'll be out like a light

I've only been out five minutes
and already I'm in a hot car

It's a very difficult job and the only way and the only way we're gonna get through it is we all work together as a team.  And that means you do everything I say.

I shouldn't let her do that, dear.
It gives them ideas.

Nuts to your watches

You must learn, Keats, there's more to life than breaking and entering

The Monochrome Set

I wanna be yours
John Cooper Clarke and My Dog Sighs

I wanna be your vacuum cleaner
breathing in your dust
I wanna be your Ford Cortina
I will never rust

If you like your coffee hot
let me be your coffee pot
You call the shots
I wanna be yours

I wanna be your raincoat
for those frequent rainy days
I wanna be your dreamboat
when you want to sail away

Let me be your teddy bear
take me with you anywhere
I don’t care
I wanna be yours

I wanna be your electric meter
I will not run out
I wanna be the electric heater
you’ll get cold without

I wanna be your setting lotion
hold your hair in deep devotion
Deep as the deep Atlantic ocean

that’s how deep is my devotion

John Cooper Clarke will be appearing at Portsmouth New Theatre Royal June 23rd

Cleanin' up da streets

Townhill Park Regeneration graffiti by Juniior Neighbourhood wardens and Slam Daniels, Tony York, Tony Roberts and 'Flash1' from Southampton Chamber of Arts

JUST one resident is now holding up the £100m redevelopment of a Southampton estate.

Labour civic chiefs say they are now set to seize the remaining property at Townhill Park after failing to reach an agreement with the owner.

However, they say work to knock down other blocks will begin within weeks while confirming that there will be council houses on the site after all.

The plans for 675 new homes to replace the dilapidated estate have been in the pipeline for several years and work to knock down the blocks is set to take place this year.
