Morning has broken, broken my heart

Morning has broken,
broken my heart

Darwin spawned a monster

Circle of support

they saw the Messiah
(I guess I missed Him again)

look both ways before you cross me

the trick is to walk in backwards
like you're walking out

my heart is touched
by awakening faces

I am free from hatred and blindness

I have a secret
and I'm gonna keep it

oh, I'm so tired

My Dog Sighs, Easter Treasure Hunt, Part Three

Welcome to the pleasuredome.  The final part of The Corn Poppy's tribute to My Dog Sighs' tribute to Morrissey. In Southsea.

Oh, the devil will find work for idle hands to do

I stole, and then I lied just because you asked me to

But now you know the truth about me

You won't see me anymore

Well, I'm still fond of you

 Oh, I'm too tired

 I'm so sick and tired

And I'm feeling very sick and ill today

But I'm still fond of you

work for idle hands

My Dog Sighs, Easter Treasure Hunt, Part Two

Southsea, holiday destination for dreamers.  So, if you're down there this Easter weekend keep your eyes peeled for 31 My Dog Sighs paste ups.  What difference does it make?  It makes some.

The devil will find work for idle hands to do

I stole and I lied, and why?
Because you asked me to

But now you make me feel so ashamed

Because I've only got two hands

Well, I'm still fond of you, oh ho oh

So, what difference does it make ?

Oh, what difference does it make ?
Oh, it makes none

 But now you have gone

And your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight

I'd leap in front of a flying bullet for you

My Dog Sighs, Easter Treasure Hunt, Part One
As a special treat for the holiday weekend Southsea's finest, My Dog Sighs, has pasted up 31 paste ups ,featuring Everyman walking through the lyrics of the Smiths' What Difference Does It Make.  Get yourself down there, see what you can find.  (Note: not all of them lasted through Good Friday).

All men have secrets and here is mine

 So let it be known

For we have been through hell and high tide

I think I can rely on you

And yet you start to recoil

Heavy words are so lightly thrown

But still I'd leap in front of a flying bullet for you

So, what difference does it make?

So, what difference does it make?
It makes none

 But now you have gone

And you must be looking very old tonight

Interstellar Overdrive

So how do you plan on saving the world?

Initiating spin!

the nearest star is over a thousand years away

There's the mountains!

Those aren't mountains, they're waves.

Everybody ready to say goodbye to our Solar System?

Murph, I love you, forever.

Love is the one thing that transcends time and space.

We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.

Don't ever stop asking questions

I have an itch, heading back to base!

We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.

Troubadour Heart

Michael Weston King with Michael Cosgrave
The songs of Townes van Zandt & Jackie Leven
Discovery Centre, Winchester
Friday 10th July 2015
8pm (Doors 7.30pm)
Michael Weston King first met Townes van Zandt in 1993 when opening for him on a tour of the UK & Ireland. He continued to do so for next three years whenever Townes came over, up to sharing the stage with him in what would be his last ever show – at The Borderline in London in December 1996. Along the way they become friends, duetted together on record and Townes cut a version of Michael’s song “Riding The Range.”
In 1994 Michael met Jackie Leven for the first time at a festival in Norway and thus began a friendship, an adventure, and many musical collaborations until Jackie’s untimely death in November 2011. Jackie produced Michael’s 2003 album “A Decent Man”and appeared on two others. He was part of Michael’s band The Decent Men and one third of their singer songwriter tours, “An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman”.
This concert will showcase some of the finest songs by both artists played out over two sets, one dedicated to Jackie and one to Townes. Expect a good number of stories and reminiscing too. Michael will be joined by multi-instrumentalist and long-time Jackie Leven musician and co-producer, Michael Cosgrave.

Tickets: £12
